At the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa, in the North Eastern corner of the Mediterranean Sea, Cyprus is the third largest island after Sicily and Sardinia.
It is the warmest island in the Mediterranean, well known for its holiday resorts, and beaches, enjoying over 300 days of sunshine every year.It is well known for its holiday resorts, and beaches, enjoying over 300 days of sunshine every year. Less well known is that 32% of the island is woodland, with the densely forested Troodos Mountains, rising to 6400 ft occupying half of the islands land area.
The Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) www.visitcyprus.org.cy, claims that there are over 500 kilometers of hiking trails and walking paths including those in the famous Akamas National Park and the recently created E4 European Trail.
There are many excellent Guides to Cyprus available on the Web or in print in particular those by Berlitz, Blue Guides, and the Rough Guide Series. If you read any of these we are sure you will agree that nowhere else in the world will the visitor find a similar size of land with such a large variety of physical and man-made environments.
Whether you are interested in villages, churches, forests or mountains, or perhaps in the flora and fauna to be seen or photographed, we can oblige with walks tailored in both location, distance, and taking account of the time you have available while on holiday.
