A nature trail at an elevation of nearly 6000 feet just below the summit of Olympus. The trail passes through ancient black pine forest with spectacular individual trees, some over 500 years old. Walking through the Troodos winter ski area we pass the remains of ancient, temporary Venetian fortifications set up to make a last stand against Ottoman invaders in the 16th century. Time 3 hours. (Mountains Bus Walk, but needing a short car journey from Troodos Square to reach the start).
