Wine Village Wanderings
Over the years we have refined the routes we take in the wine country within the plethora of chalk tracks and trails around Mount Afemi, the geographic heart of the Krasohorio. Our circular walk through the key villages is about 17 miles long, starting and finishes in the village of Pera Pedi. With many interesting things en-route the walk can take 6 hours at a reasonable pace.
Some of our customers opt for something a little shorter while getting to see the things they want to see. Others split the walk into 2 days so that they can spend more time in the villages they visit so we list below the villages. Click on the name of the village for brief features of interest and walking times between them and the type of walking. As we have said, timings are reasonably tight and do not include any significant time spent in churches, museums or other places.
The precise structure of any day's walking through the villages and countryside described is very much up to the customer. We will arrange any particular combination of places, or car journeys in place of walks that you need to see the things you want to see in the time available.

(Mountains Bus Walk. By getting off the bus in Pera Pedi main street, a request stop, and getting back on at the Mandria restaurant on the main Platres road for the return journey, it is possible to walk and enjoy the villages for around 4 hours, walking the places you choose. Of course, you can always return another day to complete the circuit! We are happy to advise you of the best options depending on the things you want to see Ferrying by car will be essential for those using the Mountains Bus.)
Time taken from Pera Pedi to Mandria 5 hours.
At this point many of our customers like to stop, have a glass of wine and relax to await transport back to Pera Pedi to complete the circuit. Others like to stroll around Mandria with its narrow streets, its friendly working people and its 19th century church. Customers waiting for the Mountains Bus to Limassol can also relax at the restaurant and cafe on the main road, which is the stopping point for the return trip.
For determined customers, the remaining part of the walk back to Pera Pedi via dirt tracks, then a short road walk and finally the quiet back way into Pera Pedi, takes 1 Hour. On the way there are some lovely views of the two villages. Time Taken from Pera Pedi back to Pera Pedi 6 hours.
